Don’t miss our free evening presentation organised by Engineers Ireland North West Region on Monday 11th December 2017 at 8:00 PM in the Sligo Park Hotel on The Management and Remediation of Oil Spills.
Our panel of speakers will discuss the management and remediation of the thousands of oil spills that occur in Ireland each year – many of which occur in the domestic setting. Using case studies, they will outline a process driven approach to the issue and drawing on a wealth of experience in the field.
This presentation will be of interest to all but of particular relevance to those directly involved in the construction industry.
Verde panel of speakers:
Gary Canny, Technical Manager with Verde Environmental Group and formerly an Associate Director at RAW Group. Gary has over 15 years’ experience in the environmental consultancy field, and has developed specialist knowledge in the areas of oil spill response, environmental and contamination investigation and remediation, environmental forensic, environmental risk assessment and expert witness work.
Gary has considerable project management experience with public and private sector clients, having dealt with over 4000 spill incidents, and has completed projects in Ireland, UK and South Asia. He has delivered numerous conference presentations and technical training contributions, including CPD courses for the private and regulatory bodies.
Pat Taaffe is an Environmental Scientist and one of the lead Project Manager for the Connaught Region with Verde Environmental Group. Since graduating from Sligo IT, and joining the Verde Group, Pat has specialised in the area of contaminated land, and has been involved in the investigation and successful remediation of 100’s of oil spill incidents across Ireland”.
Clare Whitely is an Environmental Engineer specialising in the field of contaminated land and oil spill remediation. She is the lead Project Manager for the Munster Region with Verde Environmental Group and has experience in the successful assessment and remediation of 100’s of oil spills in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
