Dublin ranked sixth out of 130 European cities for commercial real estate investment, according to Savills Investment Management Dynamic Cities 2018 Research Paper.
Wealth and population trends, particularly employment, drive successful commercial real estate markets. The factors underpinning the Dynamic Cities index are those identified as able to attract and retain talent, spur innovation and increase productivity, which encourage wealth and population growth.
Dynamic Cities index looks forward, assessing whether cities have the foundations for future strong performance, but their history can illustrate how many of these cities are already outperforming.
The paper finds that while all cities experience cyclicality, dynamic cities demonstrate a stronger upwards trend in prime total returns for office, logistics and retail.
